How to get to a cleaner internet
Recently I’ve been reading a lot of Internet and it’s influence on us. As you’ll all know, the Internet is dangerous for some carriers and businesses. For example, I don’t think newspapers won’t be around anymore in a few years? Why is that exactly you might think. Well it’s because news can reach more people through the Internet on a much faster rate then newspapers ever will reach. Blogs are still popping out everywhere throughout the net. Most of them don’t get updated frequently (like this one), but the bigger ones are here to stay. The old situation took way more time. An article had to be written and inspected by someone else before it got into the paper.
A downside towards this development is the fact, that a lot of articles are being published that don’t have the information you were looking for. Most articles are mainly developed around a writers opinion. This isn’t that bad of course, but recently I see a lot of people stating their opinions as a fact. Which is wrong! The Internet provides you a quick and easy way to let people know how you think. But try to consign people with your own opinion as a fact is just not needed. It’s rather frustrating if I may say so.
Wikipedia has the same problem in my opinion. People are editing and adding wikis every day, but lately I see a lot of bad facts countered even more by even worse facts. I was glad to hear that Wikipedia decided to screen the modified articles before putting them online. I don’t think the above stated was the reason for that, but it’s a nice development I must say. It seems we are grabbing back to the old situation, where an article was written by a journalist and inspected by someone else before it got published. Maybe that’s the right way to get some grip on this growing problem. It sure would clean up the Internet!
