Please give me some credit guys!

Wednesday, January 21st, 2009

Something entirely different then my last few posts. No tutorial this time or a portfolio update, just my perspective on things that are currently happening or like I like to state don’t happen at all. First of all, I really don’t get all the panic around this so called credit crisis. Most of the people are having the same problem as I have. Okay, due to large investments to people who can’t pay it back the trouble started, but where’s the trust. I mean filter out all the rotten apples and make a fresh start! The company’s that survive the filtering do earn that trust. Of course it isn’t that black and white but it probably should be!

Yesterday I decided to upload the very first track I made in FL Studio. I recently found it again and uploaded it on my Slam DNA profile.

This song is made on my old PC which I sold a few years ago. I used a usb to midi adapter to connect my old GEM PX3 to the computer. It worked like a charm! Maybe an idea to try and make it work on the laptop I currently use.

This track isn’t downloadable at the moment and you can only listen it through here. Like to have some critisicm and tips of course on how to make this type of stuff more professional then it is right now.

2009 what will it bring

Monday, January 5th, 2009

First of all I wish you guys a very stunning and good 2009. Damn time flies when you’re having fun. I’m still recovering from the last late night clubbin session the first day of Christmas. Anyway, a new year isn’t only about having fun. It gets me thinking about a whole lot of things.

For example what can I expect the upcoming months, weeks, years? Really gets met worried sometimes. Whit this economic crisis it seems that no one is safe anymore. Then again, I have a good job and I don’t think that’s going to change shortly. And after all only the people with the most money will feel this crisis at it’s most.

Portfolio: SXC Photo used across the ocean

Tuesday, December 9th, 2008

Last week I suddenly received a email about a photo I uploaded on SXC. Permission was asked to use the photo of the coat rack by Osler. Osler is a law firm situated in Canada. The purpose of the photo was for a company lobby welcome sign. I asked for the end result of the usage end yesterday I received it!

I’m kinda proud of the fact a photo I made is used in a country across the ocean. Below you will find the end result.

After a lot of pounding with the first song I made with FL Studio (which never made it online), I can finally pronounce the first “finished” track I ever made. I do have to master it a lot more, but due to not having a top range sound card it’s hard to get that over with. That doesn’t mean that it’s not listenable, of course it is!

Of course I would like to hear a lot of criticism, tips, tricks whatever you want to say about the song. You can download it through the link below.

The song was made using FL Studio 8. Just the standard package, no extra samples downloaded. It’s a Trance / Progressive track. Used hardware? A Compaq Presario V6113EA with on-board sound!
