Inspiring art by Gaby
Tuesday, July 19th, 2011Browsing a recently introduced social network I discovered the artist, Gaby. I came across his name in a topic which requested designers and photographers to talk about and introduce themselves to others.
His name was of particular interest because of the dutch sound it had. And what a coincidence! It was a dutch artist. This made me a bit more curious and after some searching I ended up on his website www.gabygabyart.com.
I was – and still am – astonished by the work he creates! He uses all sorts of techniques to create his masterpieces. I personally liked the movies about the Pantani and Geesink paintings a lot. Some true skill is shown there! You’ve got to see it for yourself really. I’ll promise you it’s original, creative and even inspiring!
A new t-shirt for my wardrobe
Monday, July 18th, 2011
I’m having a somewhat nice vacation right now. The weather isn’t that good, but hey! I’ve got myself some free time. That’s why I decided I needed a new t-shirt for myself. Instead of buying it in a G-Star store, the shirts I mostly buy, I thought it would be nice to design a shirt myself. Lately I’m seeing a lot of coolness with QR codes and wanted to add one to this shirt design. It doesn’t do much, just redirect people to my blog
.
Designing this for my own was a really nice experience. I wanted it to be really me and only me! This was a bit harder than I expected, because I get easily distracted by all the cool stuff around. It was also a challenge to add a QR code in the design. I wanted it to be the part that gets all the attention. With this design I think I’ve accomplished that.
It took me a while to finalize this. I wasn’t quite happy about it and deleted half of the design to get this final one. Hope you’ll like it, I sure do!
