How to get into the Google top 10 in just half an hour

Monday, March 29th, 2010

Of course You want to become one of the first in the search results when somebody is searching your name or product in Google. Of course it’s important to do some good SEO on your web page (SEO = Search Engine Optimization for the ones who didn’t know already). I did write a post on SEO earlier, feel free to look it up by using the search function below. There is a way however to get to the Google top10 in just half an hour! And I’ll explain it by using an example with nujij.nl as example web page. NuJij is similar to Digg, Redd-it and StumbleUpon. These pages get crawled every 15 to 30 minutes by Google probably because there are a lot of items posted in that particular time span.

  • I’m expanding this method to similar sites now and it seems to really do the job for my company. Okay, enough said let’s explain the trick.
  • Create an account on one of the pages above. I created one on NuJij because it’s one of the most visited dutch websites and there’s a lot of information posted. Therefor it was best suited for the company I work with.
  • I created a new article on our company web page. I copied the URL and went back to my recently created account.
  • Share the link you just copied and link it back to your own website of course. If you like add a message or description, just as it suites You. Remember the title you used on the item.
  • After that post it and grab a cup or coffee and watch tv or Buzz for half an hour.
  • When done waiting go to Google and search with words You used while adding the link half an hour ago. You’ll see the web page popping up on the first page somewhere, with a little luck at the top!

Easy as that! And if you wait a little longer you’ll find out the article on your own web page will reach the top10 also! One thing to keep in mind though, when adding the item use a good and clear title. Use keywords within the title you which to be found. Don’t use keywords solely and don’t post a lot of articles at once r in one day! A few times a week is a good period to add posts.

Portfolio: New website design finished

Thursday, March 25th, 2010

It’s been a while since I uploaded something into the portfolio section of my blog. But this week I finished a redesign of a website I already made for my aunt. She’s a stylist and needed a website to put some simple info and examples on the Internet. At first I made a simple website for her, but found some time to make some improvements. This was also a hobby project for me to try some new stuff. I’m still SEO optimizing it when I can, but the results so far are online! Take a look at www.mjsverkoopstyling.nl.

Check your backlinks for beter SEO

Tuesday, March 9th, 2010

Everybody who has done a bit of SEO for his or her website knows that backlinks are important! Especially when they are relevant to you own website. But some of the backlinks you might have aren’t relevant for your website anymore and maybe you’ll want to get rid of them. You probably don’t know which backlinks you have. With a tool like Google Analytics it’s possible to find a few of them but certainly not all of them. Well, to find even more you can use a simple and easy backlink checker. There are hundreds online, but I prefer this simple one. The only thing to do is fill in your URL and press enter.

You can find the backlink checker at: http://www.iwebtool.com/backlink_checker

How to manage your Google Buzz contacts fast and easy

Monday, March 1st, 2010

How to manage your Google Buzz contacts fast and easyI use Google Buzz pretty much and once in a while I get some extra followers and people I ‘m starting to follow. When that happens, a new contact is added in your contacts section of Gmail. Today I find out an easy and fast way to look up your Buzz contacts! How I’ve done it? Well, it’s quite simple.

  • Go to your contacts section of Gmail or just type www.google.com/contacts/.
  • Now create a group and call it whatever you like. I named it Buzzers.
  • Next select “All Contacts”
  • In the search field type the following url: http://www.google.com/profiles/. You’ll see the results immediately.
  • Select all of them and assign them to the group you just created.
  • The next time you’ll be able to get an overview by selecting that same group.
  • Got new Buzz contacts? Type in the url above again and the contact list will divide in the ones you have in your group allready and the ones that are not yet assigned to that group.
