An XML sitemap is needed and will help a search engine to understand your website better, but how can I get a XML sitemap? I didn’t know it at first too, but after some digging found some tools that could do the trick. During that digging I found out a great website (SEOmoz) with a lot of SEO tools mentioned to solve problems like this. Some are relatively simple, others are a bit harder to work with! At the end they all help to figure out where your SEO stands at.

The power of Social Media

I recently encountered one of the advantages Social Media has. In my case it was on Google Buzz (of course). However, this advantage is noticeable with every Social Media you’re using like Facebook and Twitter. Okay, I’ll tell you guys what happened. I’m a graphic designer by trade, but also like to do some coding work in PHP and recently I also discovered jQuery. But not being a coder/developer at all, it’s sometimes hard to get done what I want.

The last few weeks I worked on a project which uses jQuery and PHP. In that project I had to get a simple radio button form working. The user just needed to click on the image above the radio button to submit the form. If that worked I could hide the radio buttons itself and use the image instead. It seemed to work immediately in Chrome, FireFox and Safari. Internet Explorer however didn’t worked at all. There it only worked with text labels it seemed. According to w3c and some other website it should also work with an image.

Looking at the <label> tags everything looked like it should, Internet Explorer kept ignoring it however. I became fed up with it after trying different alternatives. So I did some asking around on some forums, but didn’t get a straight answer there either. Then I though by myself: Why not asking it on Google Buzz? So I pasted the code into Buzz and to see what happened…

The new Adobe Creative Suite CS5 features in a nutshell

Some new great tooling is added to the software suite from Adobe.  You might want to know about some nice new features in, for example Photoshop CS5. Analyze your Buzz with Google Buzz-Charts

Most of the Buzz users already know it’s possible because some active users did Buzzed it out a few days ago. However, a lot of Buzz users don’t know about this great website. The website I’m talking about is Buzz-Charts. This website allows you to look up and analyse your Buzz usage.  The website also features a Top 100 of writers which gives an overview about the users who are posting most of the Buzzes. Besides that you can also look up the people who have the most comments in Google Buzz.

Want to check out your own stats? That’s possible to, just enter your profile URL, name or id in the right top text field at BuzzCharts.com and press Chart it. It takes some time, but the results are really nice!

Today there seem to be something changed to Google Buzz. As of today it looks like it’s possible to close comments on your posts or partially remove or report comments. Good to hear the Buzz team is still working on new features and improvements! It seems more and more feature requests are added in time! Good job Buzz team!
