I’m as always pretty late to the game but it’s a hot and steaming topic right now, Google+’s real name policy….or to state it officially their “common name” policy. This means you are supposed to use a name on your profile which people know you by in daily life….okay, that sounds pretty much like a real name

At first I didn’t want to discuss the subject at all, too much trolling and complaining without the use of proper arguments. A lot of the chatter is still the same, but a few posts contained some legit discussions. Those posts made me understand the matter a whole lot better and I just want to put that in black and white here on my blog.

1. Amazing vector portraits

I only use vector in it’s simplest form, less is more. However these portraits proof I can be wrong about that! Really nicely done, like the details in most of them.

As a designer, especially an independent one, you’ll be advising your clients a lot. It comes with the turf. I’m a designer myself in charge of all designs that need to be created within my company.
During the process it’s up to the designer to give the best advice possible when it comes to design terms. For example a website layout or text placement in a brochure, it’s the designers job to figure out the best possible way to do it. Sometimes you’ll need to convince your superiors and / or clients.
Tell them what YOU think would be best
When you need to give some advice for a choice in navigation, for example, it’s wise to discuss what’s best for the project. It’s kind of logical but people are forgetting this part. Making choices happens ad-hock a lot.
